Manchester, TN – In a continued effort to spur job creation in the 4th Congressional District, U.S. Rep. Lincoln Davis has announced that his annual small business and rural infrastructure investment seminar will be held August 9-10 at the Manchester-Coffee County Convention Center.
Small business owners, economic development professionals, elected community officials and non-profit organizations are welcome to attend the free event.
Prominent defense companies will be leading informational sessions on how to procure small business contracts.
“This is a great opportunity for small business owners or entrepreneurs who may be starting a new venture,” said Rep. Davis. “There are many businesses in the Fourth District that manufacture quality products through government procurement opportunities. Bringing people from across Tennessee together with representatives from government agencies and private industry will foster a shared commitment to investing in the kind of infrastructure that will be critical to our economic recovery.”

Presenters include the Appalachian Regional Commission, USDA Rural Development, U.S. Department’s of Homeland Security, Energy, Justice, and NASA, to name a few. The Foundation Center will be leading a how-to grant writing session.
Included in this event, Aerospace Testing Alliance (ATA) purchasing and Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC) contracting will be presenting at the seminar on how local vendors can do business with ATA and the federal government in support of the AEDC mission.
The last session of the second day, Davis will be joined by the U.S. Department of Energy; USDA Rural Development State Director, Bobby Goode; as well as, Bob Balzar with TVA’s Energy Efficiency and Demand Response for a special panel discussion.
