Coffee County District Attorney General Mickey Layne called for the TBI investigation following a meeting this week with the current Manchester aldermen and Mayor Lonnie Norman.

Two Coffee County men arrested in beating death

Franklin County authorities have arrested Coffee County two men in connection with a beating death last month in Franklin County. Cory John Lanier, 26, of 4241 Murfreesboro Hwy., Manchester, and Eugene Todd Dalton, 39, of 6884 Murfreesboro Hwy., Manchester, have both been charged with first degree murder and criminal homicide for the beating death of Corey N. Matthews of 714 Tennessee Ave., Cowan.
