My wife is my best friend and she has been working out of town for the US NAVY. She is at a Naval Air Station just North of Memphis and the separation has been pretty tough. Yesterday I ran into a very close friend who has a very similar situation. Her husband owns a moving company and is out of town quite often. She told me “separation makes the heart grow fonder and the pain lets you know that you’re waiting for the right person.” Well as bad as I am hurting, there is no doubt.
While my baby is gone, I have been doing little projects to keep myself busy. It has been a while since I have put on a Culinary Arts Class at the Conference Center, so I have decided to make that my next project. My sweetheart won’t be around for Valentines Day, so to keep my mind off of it, I am going to do a Valentines Special Class. I have been putting together some great ideas and in the next week I will start getting the word out.
One of the things I have been working on is a special Valentines Day dessert. I realize Valentines Day is on a Tuesday this year and that some of our class attendees may not be able to bring their dates to this luncheon class. Our answer is to make extra desserts and give everyone an extra dessert to take home with them. We only hope that the dessert makes it to the missing sweethearts.
I converted this recipe for you to a regular 9 inch torte. Our plans are to kick it up a notch and make this a special Valentines presentation. I think you should just come to the Conference Center on February 14 and let us make your torte for you, and like I said I’ll even give you one TO GO! If you can’t come as a couple, let your spouse buy you a certificate to attend. What a Valentine gift. Details about this event are available at the Conference Center call us at 931-723-8283 to make a reservation.
